Dr. Chris Ward
Endodontic specialist, Dr. Chris Ward, from Jacksonville, NC is a second-generation dentist. In 1997, Dr. Ward received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry Degree and Master’s Degree in Science from the University of Louisville, School of Dentistry, Louisville, Kentucky. He then went on to earn his specialty certificate in Endodontics from Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1999 where he also met his beautiful wife. Soon after, Dr. Ward opened his practice in Wilmington, NC.
Dr. Ward has over 20 years of experience practicing in the specialty of endodontics. He is recognized by the American Board of Endodontics as a board-certified endodontist. Currently, he and Dr. Ritter are the only board-certified endodontists practicing in Wilmington and the surrounding areas.

Get To Know Dr. Cameron Ritter
Dr. Cameron Ritter, a is native of Greensboro, NC and has been practicing with us here at Coastal Endodontics since 2018. After receiving his undergraduate degree from UNC-Chapel Hill, Dr. Ritter went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree with the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.
Following dental school, Dr. Ritter completed a General Practice Residency with the Washington D.C. VAMC. Dr. Ritter practiced General Dentistry for several years as a solo practitioner with locations in Ramseur and Garner NC. Dr. Cameron Ritter continued to practice General Dentistry in San Antonio, TX before entering and completing his Endodontic Residency, earning his certificate in the Advanced Education Program in Endodontics for UT Health San Antonio School of Dentistry (UTHSCSA). Dr. Ritter is also board-certified by the American Board of Endodontics. Dr. Ritter and Dr. Ward are currently the only board certified endodontists in Wilmington.
Dr. Ritter has the unique experience of practicing General Dentistry before specializing in Endodontics. With that experience, Dr. Ritter has mastered the true gift of treating all patients in a gentle and compassionate manner. Patients love his great personality along with his endodontic ability. Dentists love his established two-way communication which facilitates better treatment and a positive experience for patients.
Dr. Ritter and his wife, Brooke, just welcomed their second child into the world! The Ritters reside in Wilmington with their children and two golden retrievers.

Essential Visit Tips
Please complete necessary registration forms that have been sent to you from our office and arrive at your scheduled appointment time. For treatment appointments, we recommend eating a light meal prior to your visit as we do not want you to be chewing until after the local anesthetic wears off. Consider bringing headphones to listen to your own music and a light sweater for your comfort.

Serving Outside the Office
Dr. Ward is honored to be involved with The Good Shepherd Center's "Adopt-a-Family" program in Wilmington, providing support and assistance to families in need. He also regularly participates in Operation Smile Dental Missions, using his expertise to deliver life-changing care to children born with cleft lips and palates.
In 2014, Dr. Ward completed his fifth mission trip to Vietnam with Operation Smile, a profound experience that deepened his commitment for service.
Dr. Ritter has served at the Missions of Mercy Dental Clinic on multiple occasions, offering his endodontic skills to provide essential dental care for underserved communities. He has also undertaken a mission trip to Jamaica, where he provided much-needed endodontic treatment to those with limited access to dental care.
